Navigating the Minefield between
Black and White Americans in an Age of Fear

Bruce Jacobs has appeared on NPR, Pacifica, C-SPAN, and dozens of radio and television talk shows.  He frequently speaks at universities and in  Race Mannerscommunities across the country on contemporary race relations. A graduate of Harvard University, he lives in Baltimore, Maryland.

His book, Race Manners for the 21st Century
Navigating the Minefield between Balck & White Americans in an Age of Fear
has just been released in an updated edition.  It confronts the difficulties of communicating across the historical barriers that racism has created and examines the continuing strains of racism that more subtly infuse our current culture and society.

Reputed to be an "almost-competent saxophonist," he is also a poet.  Speaking Through My Skin won the Naomi Long Madgett Poetry Award. His poetry has also appeared in American Writing and African American Review.

His blog, aliasbruce, features his commentary on a range of topics as well as texts of his speaking engagements and public appearances.
