Wolves  w/ Michael Robinson
Center for Biological Diversity

Michael Robinson's work for the Center for Biological Diversity includes
advocacy for recovery of wolves, jaguars and grizzly bears and education
about the history and current successes of the Endangered Species Act.

Michael holds an M.A. in literature from the Univ. of Colorado at Boulder
and a B.A. from the University. of Texas at Austin.  Predatory BureaucracyHe has authored dozens of
articles and opinion pieces on conservation issues that have appeared in publications ranging from High Country News to the New York Times. 

He is author of Predatory Bureaucracy: The Exter- mination of Wolves and the Transformation of the West (University Press of Colorado, 2005). It has been praised by reviewers as "bringing "history to  life," "a work of tremendous scholarship," and "a beautifully written book that captures the feel of western landscapes and the ethos of early 20th century America with an eloquence unusual for a weighty, scholarly book."

Most folks think of spring as a wonderfully moderate time of year, the trees start leafing out, you can leave the windows open as you sleep, and there's no frost in the morning.

But the political heat has been turned up a notch here in Grant as our County Commissioners - supposedly Democrats - have taken their marching orders from the Grant County Cattle Growers, Gila Fish and Gun Club, and the field officers of Stevan Pearce and the ethically challenged Pete Dominici by passing resolution R-07-11.  Oh, did I mention that Catron County is in on it too?
